UK Wild Otter Trust are thrilled to share that Classic Cottages have sponsored the new hospital buildings on our new land.
Classic Cottages are an independent, family-run holiday letting agency based in Cornwall, with a collection of cottages across the UK. They reached out to our small charity after seeing our charity on BBC News recently.
Earlier this year we announced that as part of our 5 year plan we have acquired 4 acres of land, with the vision of creating a sister rehabilitation centre to our current site. This year has been our busiest year to date with 34 otter cubs rescued to date. This time last year we had rescued 25 otters – every year we are seeing an increase in the otters that need our help. This project is a perfect way for Classic Cottages to support our volunteer run charity.
Our founder and CEO said, “As an organisation, we rely completely on kind donations and support as from Classic Cottages. This support is invaluable to us and enables us to continue our specialist work in helping, rehabilitating and releasing back into the wild. No one in our organisation takes any expenses or wages. We are all true volunteers and we do it, simply because we see that Humans have caused so many issues in our world, we need to put something back. We will be putting this donation to good use in getting another cub hospital built in the near future. We want to thank Classic Cottages for their valued support in this project.”
