UKWOT Training Courses

UKWOT offer a range of training courses that can be found below. All course participants will obtain a UKWOT certificate on successful completion of all courses. Prices stated do not include overnight accommodation or travel costs or food. It is suggested that you bring your own food for all courses. Tea & coffee/cold drinks will be supplied FOC. 

BASIC OTTER SIGNS COURSE

1 day course identifying otter signs. This will consist of 2 hrs in classroom and 5 hrs on local watercourse looking for and identifying otter signs.

£50 per person (max of 4 per day)

ADVANCED OTTER ECOLOGY/BEHAVIOUR

2 day course identifying, learning, fieldwork on the Eurasian otter & its signs. 1 day in classroom and 1 day on local watercourse.

£100 per person (max of 2 per day)

HUMANE TRAPPING LICENCE

(The training will not register you as an individual to the CL36 licence but it will allow UKWOT to add operatives to the trapping team by using individual licences. You would be working under UKWOTs policies & procedures at all times.)

2 day course All applicants will be vetted prior to acceptance to this course and must have prior experience of trapping of some sorts. Evidence of such must be produced upon acceptance to course.

£250 per person to include lunch (accommodation can be arranged at extra cost – please enquire) 

Possible training events can be held in Northamptonshire area

INTRODUCTION TO OTTER INTERIM CARE

1 day course learning all aspects of otter interim care and recommended procedures – suitable for wildlife centres/employees.
