About Sam Dodd
From her home studio at her cottage in Somerset, Sam Dodd paints the native Wildlife that she so loves- with birds being of a particular interest. Using preliminary sketches and photos as reference, Sam applies the acrylic paint onto the canvas – initially in bold washes and splashes – leaving areas of white to create a fresh, dynamic feel, reflecting the constant movement in nature. Sam then works in the detail of her main character – be it an Owl, Fox or a Puffin – whilst maintaining vibrancy to her finished painting.
