We are looking for a dedicated volunteer to work closely with our founder and CEO Dave Webb and support our teams of volunteers. This position is voluntary and is unpaid. Everyone within the charity is unpaid.

Role Description

  • Answering emails and phone calls or forwarding to relevant people within the charity.
  • Liaise with CEO and other UKWOT team members to ensure smooth running of charity. You would have your own PA phone, paid for by UKWOT.
  • Liaising with other conservation organisations and wildlife centres.
  • You may be needed to assist with transporting otter cubs so having your own vehicle would be beneficial.
  • Assisting other team members with tasks, including but not limited to writing and researching grant applications, and organising and attending events.
  • Arranging and attending team meetings, creating agendas and taking notes.
  • Helping to manage online shop stock and sending out orders.

Location

  • Hybrid role. Being located in North Devon would be an advantage as visits to our centre would be needed. However, if the right candidate is found, remote volunteering may be possible.

Hours

  • Ad hoc. Maximum of 10 hours. Everyone within our charity either has a full time job outside of their volunteer work or is retired and volunteer their hours where possible and necessary.

What are we looking for?

  • Excellent organisational skills and is reliable.
  • Trustworthy and professional as the post involves sensitive and contentious information.
  • Excellent communication skills and is confident communicating via telephone, email and in person in a professional manner.
  • Works well within a team and is a motivated independent worker. 
  • Has their own vehicle and has a full clean driving license to assist with transporting otter cubs when needed and attending events.
  • Passionate about animals and conservation and has a good knowledge of UKWOTs work or is willing to learn.
  • Have access to a computer and internet access.
