We are searching for an education officer volunteer to join our existing education officer at the UK Wild Otter Trust (UKWOT). UKWOT is run by a dedicated team of volunteers and no one within the charity is paid. Please find more information below.
We are looking for people who can commit to at least 4 hours a week, however variations can be discussed.
Volunteer Role Description
Our education programme needs an overhaul and working with our existing education officer, we are looking for someone who will help develop and deliver UKWOT’s education programme. Our main education programme delivery is via our website, our goal is to update and expand what we offer.
As a charity our goal is to educate people about otters, their habitat and conservation. We want to educate and inspire people of all ages.
Both education officers will be supported by other teams at UKWOT, especially the Communications team, who can support with education content creation and website edits.
The role would include:
- Developing and delivering our updated education programme
- Creating education materials for our website
- Creating interactive education content
- Creating education content tailored to different key stages and ages
- Creating teacher guidance materials
- Helping with other tasks within the charity where needed.
What are we looking for?
- A passion for animals and conservation and a good knowledge of UKWOTs work or willingness to learn.
- Experience in an education setting.
- Experience with the tasks mentioned above.
- Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills, with ability to design, create and implement content that engages audiences and drives brand awareness and growth.
- Excellent written English, oral communication, and interpersonal skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication skills are extremely important as we are a small team that volunteers remotely.
- A collaborative team-player, while also able to work well independently.
- This position is remote and would require you to have access to a computer and internet access.
