We are looking for an experienced individual to join our existing communications officer, in managing our charities communications. Our aim is for our two communications officers to work together to promote UKWOT’s aims and activities and increase the charities reach.

This position is voluntary and is unpaid. Everyone within the charity is unpaid.

Role Description

– Creating content, scheduling posts, community engagement and reviewing analytics for UKWOT’s social media accounts (Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube).

– Managing UKWOT’s website and online shop, including writing copy, keeping content up to date and creating landing pages – using wordpress. – Creating the charities newsletter, using campaign manager.

– Writing copy for use accross the charity to educate and inspire donations, whilst following the charity’s social media policy. – Creating engaging, informative, and educational graphics and videos for use across the charity.

– Creating educational and promotional materials for print and digital uses.

– Communicating with press outlets to create opportunities and representing the charity where required.

What are we looking for?

– A passion for animals and conservation and a good knowledge of UKWOTs work or willingness to learn.

– Expereince managing websites, preferably using wordpress.

– Experience managing social media channels would be beneficial.

– Excellent IT skills, including experience using canva.

– Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills, with ability to design, create and implement content specifically for a range of social media platforms that engages audiences and drives brand awareness and growth.

– Excellent written English, oral communication, and interpersonal skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication skills are extremely important as we are a small team, that volunteers remotely.

– A collaborative team-player, while also able to work well independently.

Location

This position is remote and would require you to have access to a computer and internet access.

Hours

Many people at UKWOT have a full time job outside of their volunteer work and volunteer their hours where possible and necessary. There are no restrictions when volunteer hours are carried out. We are looking for someone who can commit to at least 5 hours a week, however variations can be discussed.
